Bin Care Guide

A few simple steps help us recycle more, and keep bins in good condition and people safe.

Please familiarise yourself with this guide and share the information with staff and users.

Check your bins regularly to ensure they are not contaminated with other types of flooring, blades, metal, plastic packaging or other contamination that can cause problems in the recycling process.

Please report any damage to the bin(s) or stickers on receipt, giving us the bin(s) number. This will allow us to take immediate action. We may make a charge if there is any damage beyond that of reasonable wear and tear.

Bins remain Recofloor property, and they must remain at your premises or the agreed location. If you need a bin at a different location, please contact us. 

  • Don’t paint or write on bins or put your own stickers on them.
  • Use the wheel brakes to ensure bins don’t move about in the yard 
  • Release ALL the brakes before loading on to the collection vehicle otherwise, the wheels may buckle.
  • Take extra care when loading the bin(s) onto a tail lift or forklift to prevent wheel or fork pocket damage.
  • Keep the lid closed and material contained within the bin. If you need a bin key, get in touch.
  • Take care when moving the bins to prevent them from bumping into each other.
