Every year, the prestigious Recofloor Awards are presented at a fantastic celebration event. This is an opportunity to recognise members’ achievement and to acknowledge their commitment to the scheme.
Alongside the Recofloor Gold, Silver and Bronze awards, there are several award categories which are open for entry submissions.
There are several benefits of winning an award:

- A great marketing opportunity. You can benefit from the free marketing that comes with winning a Recofloor award. This includes winners’ details in a press release to the main flooring publications, a news story on the Recofloor website, details in our newsletter, tweets on twitter and posts on Facebook.
- The event itself provides fantastic networking opportunities, bringing together scheme participants from all over the country.
- Presentations at the event provide a chance to find out more about the scheme and how it operates.
- You can use your award to promote your company by displaying your winner’s certificate and trophy, including details of your win in your own newsletters, on your website, Facebook page and maybe even alerting your local press.
So what are the categories?
Contractor of the Year
This category recognises those collectors that have demonstrated commitment to the scheme by collecting material in accordance with the specifications and contributing to Recofloor’s success.
Distributor of the Year
Distributors play a significant role in the success of Recofloor, by extending their services to allow fitters to drop off smaller volumes of waste vinyl flooring at their sites. This category recognises distributors that engage with the scheme by inviting Recofloor to hold events at their premises, helping Recofloor to increase awareness among flooring contractors and fitters who use the drop-off points and promoting the scheme to their customers.
Recofloor Champion
We are aware that very often the success of Recofloor is down to the commitment and dedication of individuals who are driven to implement Recofloor at their company. The Recofloor Champion is someone who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the scheme by ensuring that the collected material meets the specification by going the extra mile and encouraging all staff members to participate.
Drop-off Site User of the Year
This category recognises a flooring contractor or fitter who regularly drops off clean, good quality waste vinyl suitable for recycling at one of the 66 drop-off sites across the UK.
What to expect:
In the next few months we will open online entries for members to submit their award entry for the above categories and will be announcing where and when the event will take place. Meanwhile, you could start to think about which categories you might enter!
