Summer is often one of the busiest times in construction – including vinyl flooring fittings ramping up throughout the season. Therefore, we know how quickly waste vinyl flooring can build up and the challenge it can represent to contractors to clear their sites. The great news? Your green practices can benefit even further with Recofloor.
Growing our green network
We are thrilled to announced that members will now have access to a reuse network connection via Recofloor to facilitate the movement of roll-ends and surplus vinyl. This means that as well as our recycling route, vinyl waste can potentially be used directly on new projects. This initiative further enhances our circular economy principles and demonstrates environmental leadership. To find out how it works, click here.
Recycling in full swing
At the halfway point of 2026, we have diverted nearly 300 tonnes of waste vinyl flooring. Our free drop-off points are buzzing as well as collections from premises and project sites. From smooth, safety, Luxury Vinyl tiles (LVT) and loose lay, we’re seeing a steady flow of material being transformed back into new vinyl or useful products.
Collection success stories
Summer will bring increased activity and with it, a surge in collections. Boost your practice on your successful fitting and help us motivate others! Simply mention your intention to us, take photos of the flooring and Recofloor onsite, once the project is finished, we will draft a short copy and share with you and our communications channels.
As we move through the summer months, we look forward to continuing increasing awareness and working alongside you to make the best use of waste vinyl flooring.
Enjoy the sunshine!
